Invalid Provider Specialty for Claim Type Billed

Meridian is currently on a project to recover claims where the referring, ordering, or attending provider’s specialty was not valid for the claim type build. These claims were paid, and the associated encounters were rejected by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).

To ensure compliance with MDHHHS requirements, Meridian will be adjusting affected claims. Any claims identified with an invalid provider specialty for the claim type build will be recouped accordingly.

The estimated completion date for these projects is May 16, 2025.
