New Authorization Requirement: Out of Network Providers (Effective 5/1/2025)
We are implementing a new authorization requirement for out-of-network providers under our Medicaid line of business. This change will help ensure that our members will receive the highest quality of care.
Effective May 1, 2025, out-of-network providers will be required to obtain authorization before rendering services to our members.
What You Need to Know
Authorization Requirement:
Providers that are out of network must obtain prior authorization for services. If you are actively seeing membership today and you remain out of network, Meridian will transition member care.

How To Check Your Status:
Providers can check their network status by calling the dedicated Provider Service departments for assistance:

Our exceptions list bulletin contains a list of services that will not require out-of-network authorization, effective May 1, 2025.
